BIOGRAPHY

Fidosi Kerchev is a Bulgarian pianist. He graduated from the Lyubomir Pipkov National Music School in Sofia in 2017, where he studied piano with Lyubov Shisheva.
He continued his musical education at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional (CRR) in Paris with prof.Billy Eidi, and in 2019 entered the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, studying piano with Johan Schmidt.
He completed his Bachelor’s degree in 2020. In 2022, he obtained his Master’s degree with la plus grande distinction (highest distinction), followed in 2023 by a Master Spécialisé (Specialized Master).
Fidosi Kerchev is a laureate of numerous international pianocompetitions. Among his most significant distinctions are:
- First Prize at the X International Piano Competition “Sardoal” in Portugal.
- First Prize at the “Breughel” Competition in Brussels.
- Laureate of the International Competition “Maria Giubilei” in Italy.
- Laureate of ́Classic Academy’ in Liege, Belgium.
- First Prize at the Ninth International Competition “Albert Roussel” in Sofia.
- First Prize at the Sixth International Competition “J. S. Bach” in Japan.
- Grand Prix at the XXIV International Competition “Music and the Earth” in Sofia.
- Grand Prix at the Second International Competition “La Musique et la Terre” in Paris.
He has also received the high distinctions Diplôme Supérieur, Diplôme de Virtuosité, and Diplôme de Concert from the renowned Schola Cantorum in Paris.
A major contribution to his development as a musician was made also by Prof. Jenny Zaharieva.
As a soloist, Fidosi Kerchev has performed with the Royal Orchestra of Liège, the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, the Ensemble Orchestral de Bruxelles, the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra, the New Symphony Orchestra in Sofia, the Pleven Philharmonic Orchestra and more…
He has collaborated with conductors including Gergely Madaras, Jacques Vanherenthals, Robert Guter, Konstantin Ilievsky, Rosen Gergov, Stanislav Ushev, Georgi Patrikov, Vitaly Leydinen, Denis De
Liberali and others.
He has given piano recitals in major venues such as Bulgaria Hall in Sofia, Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium, the Bulgarian Embassy in Tokyo, the Bulgarian Cultural Centre in Paris, Flagey Hall in Brussels, the French Institute, and the National Palace of Culture in Sofia.
Fidosi Kerchev has participated in masterclasses with Boris Petrushansky, Natalia Trull, Marie-Joseph Jude, Jenny Zaharieva, Pascal Godard, Roland Pöntinen, Chantal Stigliani, and others.
He has appeared at major Bulgarian festivals including the New Year Music Festival in Sofia, the Salon of Arts, Varna Summer, and Sofia Music Weeks. His international festival appearances include San Biagio and Giulio Rospigliosi in Italy, the Académie Internationale de Nice and the Académie du Grand Paris in France, and Forum Musikae in Madrid, among others.
In 2019, within the framework of the “Musicorum” Festival in Brussels, he performed as a soloist with the Ensemble Orchestral de Bruxelles under the direction of Jacques Vanherenthals, under the patronage of Prince and Princess Amaury de Merode, at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts. In February 2020, he was selected to represent the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in a concert performed before Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium.
In 2024, Fidosi Kerchev was awarded the Crystal Lyra Award in the category “Young Artist.” He is also the recipient of the Nikola Ikonomov Award for his contribution to the promotion of cultural life in his hometown of Razgrad.
